The craft of the miller: online conference on mill biotope

De Hollandsche Molen organiseert opnieuw een online conference over het ambacht van de molenaar. Dit keer is het onderwerp de biotoop rond de molen. Het is een internationale conference dus in het Engels. Je kan op voorhand vragen doorsturen.

De conference zal doorgaan op 22 februari en start om 16u.

A windmill needs wind to work and produce. The mill biotope is more and more under pressure.

The Conference will cover the following topics:

• What is a windmill biotope and what are the risks and threats that can impact it?

• How does the biotope model work?

• The history of the Dutch Molenbiotoop Calculation

• How the Molenbiotoop is used in different countries

• Recent work to validate the Molenbiotoop Calculation

• How to use the Molenbiotoop to create evidence of the potential harm a development close to a windmill may cause.

The conference will include small group discussion to ensure your questions, issues and concerns get answered! To prepare, we want to ask you to send us your questions before 15 February 2024.
